There are many ways you can get involved with APBP. We are an all-volunteer organization, and your gift of time, money, or books makes our work possible. We simply can’t do it without you.
In 2021, APBP launched the pen pal program to support incarcerated people in the six states we serve (West Virginia, Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, and Tennessee) as well as in Pennsylvania, where our organization is involved in higher education initiatives.
Are you interested in writing to someone who is incarcerated in Appalachia? We’d love to have you join our pen pal program!
Interested in volunteering? We’d love to have you.
APBP is funded almost entirely by donations—of books and money. Make a donation today to help us create education access and equity for those on the inside.
APBP hosts events throughout the year to raise awareness about mass incarceration in our society. Come join us at an event.
