What Volunteers Do

Volunteers respond to letters from people in prison who are looking for books to read. You will have the chance to read letters, select books, and wrap packages to be mailed.

Volunteers can also help in any of the following ways:

  • Donate books (see our “Donate” page for books we need & do not need!)
  • Shelve books & organize the office space
  • Fundraise!
  • Make contacts with prison libraries
  • Correspond with people who are in prison
  • Sponsor a book drive for high priority books

Internships

APBP invites WVU students (law, undergraduate, graduate) to apply to become an APBP Intern. Students are able to earn academic credit, fulfill service-learning and community service hours, and gain experience with a local dynamic nonprofit.
